Pullum Purna

unnamed.jpg
PlayStyle: Aggressive Rushdown

Similar to: Cammy(SF), Dhalsim (SF), Yun(SF)

Strengths: One of the fastest characters in the game and has the most air mobility of all the characters. She has scary air Drill Purrus pressure and is a tick throw monster. She is incredibly difficult to control as she can adjust her approach with many options. Pullum is very hard to pin down and she also has a great plethora of moves that compliment her strong normals.

Weaknesses: She does end up doing lower damage than most of the cast and with movement being very good in FEXL spacing Drill Purrus from the air takes great spacing and timing to use well.

Play if: + You like doing a lot of dive kicks
+ You like having plenty of mobility options
+ You love baiting and tick throwing

Avoid if: - You don't like using a lot dive kicks
                 - You naturally want high damage (without the help of decks)
                 - You can't stand "boing" sound effects

Recommended Gougi Decks: Aggro, Stealth Raptor, Shinobi, Berserker, Thunderbolt

                           Max Punish Combos

Meterless: dash crMP > crMP > crHP > Heavy Ten'el Kick (52 Damage)

1 Bar: dash crMP > crMP > crHP > Light Ten'el Kick > Kind Wind (73 Damage)

2 Bar: dash crMP > crMP > crHP > Heavy Drill Purrus > Praec Larum cancel on 5th hit> Kind Wind (88 Damage)

3 Bar: dash crMP > crMP > stHP > Resar Cana cancel on 4th hit > Praec Larum cancel on 5th hit> Kind Wind (84 Damage)

                                    Key Normals

Crouch Heavy Punch: Go to solid anti air and can easily combo into Praec Larum or depending on the spacing Ten'el Kick.

Stand Medium Kick: This is an excellent button to check dash in low with and to buffer into Drill Purrus or Ten'el Kick to whiff punish or counter poke an opponent. Drill Purrus will always connect from any range.

Alacer Wrist: This unique attack is great to open up a blocking opponent and it will also hop over crouching opponents on hit. The air version grants a bounce off the opponent and let's you double jump again.

Crouch Heavy Kick: Completely safe on block and great to confirm into on block if you don't want to risk a potential punish if you go into Light Ten'el Kick. This sweep will also low profile projectiles and is a great whiff punish tool.

Stand Heavy Kick: An excellent normal to go over dash in low attempts as the hitbox is very horizontal. It can counter poke, whiff punish very well, and be used as a meaty on wakeup or to end a chain to be safe.

                                    Key Moves

Ten'el Kick: It's your main special move to end chains safely (light version) but be mindful because there is a gap when cancelling. This move also can be used for cross up shenanigans after some knockdowns and it has great oki for more Drill Purrus pressure.

Drill Purrus: Your best combo tool that combos from any cancellable normal at any range. Good damage and decent okizeme, you'll be using this move a lot and in the corner it can combo into Resar Cana.

Pullum Kick: Your standard reversal attack that is completely invincible on start up. This reversal has two hits and the second hit goes high above her head so it's quite good for stopping opponents trying to jump over Pullum. Cancelling into Kind Wind on block is a great way to bait an opponent but be careful as Kind Wind is quite punishable on block when an opponent is ready.

                              General Strategy

Pullum Purna is best at frustrating the opponent with her air mobility and then pressuring an agitated player with her air Drill Purrus. She can avoid every kind of projectile option so mastering which drill angle to use in each situation is essential. She has a solid tool kit so you'll feel well equipped for any match up. Be vary of gougi decks with Hades as she has trouble dealing with armour without meter although it makes her multi hitting supers do a lot more damage. Staying mobile in FEXL is important but even more so with Pullum so stay fluid and unpredictable and you'll showcase her princess power.
